Leap Day Tops coupons

If you're headed out to Tops today, you may want to go here to print out their Leap Day store coupons valid only today:
  • Chiquita Bananas - $0.29/lb. (up to 5 lbs.)
  • Strip or Porterhouse steaks - $5.99/lb.
  • Fresh Salmon Fillet - $5.99/lb.
  • 31/40-ct. Cooked Shrimp - $5.99
The way my kids go through bananas, I'm definitely interested in that coupon!  I did notice the coupons all state " Not valid with any other store coupons," which kind of puts a kink in my plan since I have other store coupons from their 50th anniversary game that I was planning on using, too.

End-of-the-month reminder

Happy Leap Day!  Just a quick reminder to go print any coupons you might be interested in, since most online sites will introduce new coupons on the first of the month.  Be sure to check coupons.com, Red Plum, SmartSource, and Coupon Network today for any coupons you think you might want in case they disappear tomorrow.

Cheap lunchmeat!

Remember the other day when I posted here about the Smithfield Facebook coupon?  Well, I unexpectedly found an awesome use for it while I was perusing the meat department at Tops today.

I found these 6-oz. packages of Smithfield pre-packaged lunchmeat priced at $1.19 (regular price).  Paired with the $1 Smithfield Facebook coupon, that's just $0.19 each!

Reminder: Play the Tops anniversary game!

I've mentioned it in several Tops shopping trip posts, but I just wanted to post a reminder to play the Tops 50th anniversary game every day.

You can play the game here after you've registered your BonusCard.  Pop a balloon for a chance to be a daily $50 gift card winner.  If you don't win (have any of my readers won, because I sure haven't!), you can download a consolation prize coupon.  You can play once every day to get a new coupon. I have to say, I've been pleasantly surprised by several awesome coupons!

Good luck and be sure to report back if you're a lucky gift card winner!

2/26 - 3/3 Tops deals

Since I seemed to see Tops stores everywhere I went today, I stopped into several of them to pick up some deals (and stay within their coupon policy).  At the end of the day here is what I walked away with:

1 loaf of Bimbo bread - FREE, see note
On sale for $2, used a free item Tops store coupon from playing their 50th anniversary game
Note: This was not the bread specified on the coupon (it was supposed to be the 16 oz. whole wheat loaf), but they had none in stock.  I asked at customer service if they would allow a substitution or issue a raincheck because the coupon expired today and they weren't getting any bread deliveries today.  After the customer service clerk made a couple of phone calls, they said I could grab any other Bimbo loaf.  Yay!

2 packages Butterball turkey bacon - $1.00 each
On sale 2/$3, used the $1 off 2 coupon from the 1/15 SmartSource coupon insert (expires today if you are planning on using it!)

4 chunks of Heluva Good cheese - $0.74 each
On sale for $1.74 each, used 4 $0.50 coupons (double to $1) printed from here

9 boxes of Mueller's pasta - FREE
On sale 10/$10, used 10 $0.55 coupons ("double" up to $1 since no overage is allowed) printed from the Mueller's website (must be a new registration -- be aware that mine printed with a 2/29 expiration date.  If you register after 2/29, maybe you'll get a further expiration?)

4 bottles (64 oz) Snapple - FREE
On sale 2/$4, used 4 Tops store coupons from playing their anniversary game

The retail cost was $47.90 and I paid $4.96 after discounts and coupons, for a savings of approximately 90%.  I am now at a gas discount of $1.20.

I have more pasta coupons, so I will probably grab some more in the next couple of days since I am always looking to increase my pasta stockpile (we eat a lot of it around here!).

There are a few more deals I'm considering buying later this week including:

Kellogg's Pop-Tarts (don't laugh -- they are one of my guilty pleasures!)
On sale 2/$4, use the $0.70 coupons here (double to $1.40 = $0.60 each

Smithfield marinated pork tenderloin
On sale for $6.99 each, use the $2 Tops coupon from their anniversary game stacked with the $1 coupon available from their Facebook page (see the 2/16 wall post) = $3.99
Note: The Facebook coupon doesn't state "manufacturer coupon" on it, so I'm waiting to see if I find anyone posting on their wall that stores aren't accepting it.  It's also more than my typical $1.99/pound limit, so I really have to think about this purchase!

There is also a Quaker oatmeal deal I'll consider if I can find the right coupons to make it the right price for me.

New Diaper Club at Tops

If you've been a regular reader of this blog, you have probably noticed there are some items I never mention, even if they are on sale.  Since I don't have any babies or pets, I don't generally look for or research deals relating to them.

Since it was featured in this week's Tops ad and there may be readers who could benefit from it, I thought I'd point out the new Diaper Club that Tops has started...

For every $1.00 you spend using your Bonus Card on any brand of diapers, you automatically receive 1 diaper point. When you collect 100 diaper points, you will receive a coupon at checkout for $20 off your next diaper purchase. This offer is good on any brand of diapers or pull-ups.  I don't see any information regarding coupons, but if I had to guess I would think the points would be calculated on the pre-coupon price of any diapers you buy.  Matching coupons with sales can hopefully net you some cheap diapers!

Money Saving Challenge - week 8 in review

This past week wasn't very good for me as far as saving money.  The kids were off school for February recess, we went and visited relatives out of town, and I've been sick, all of which made my regular penny pinching take a back seat (and explains why I haven't updated the blog in a week!).  Here are a couple of things I did, though, to help me with my money-saving goal:
  • I received a coupon for a free tub of Land O'Lakes butter with olive oil via snail mail, from a previous mail-in rebate.
  • We took the kids bowling because we had a coupon that got us each a free game.
  • With the exception of picking up 4 bottles of Tabasco sauce for free after sale and coupons at Tops, I "shopped" from my stockpile.
  • We turned the heat off in the house while we were out of town.
  • This didn't save me money, but I wanted to give my husband credit for this: while we were out of town, he ran to the store to get some snacks. My coupon binder was in the car and he checked it before he made any purchases!  There were no coupons for what he ended up buying, but I was so proud of him for making the effort. :-)
Now that we're back home and the kids will be back to their regular school schedule (and hopefully I'll be feeling better soon), I'm going to really strive to do more this week to save money.

If you have any great money-saving tips, I'd love to read about them.  Just leave me a comment below!

Money Saving Challenge - week 7 in review

Here is a look back at the things I did this week to save money...
  • I matched sales and coupons at Tops to lower my grocery spending, earning a gas discount of $1.00 per gallon in the process.  I also matched sales and coupons at CVS to buy my husband his toothpaste of choice.
  • I combined errands on outings to help save on gas usage.
  • I received a "Big Fat Check" from Ebates from my online shopping.
  • I returned my cans and bottles when I went grocery shopping, which helped lower the out-of-pocket cost of my groceries.
  • I took my son out for lunch for the first time in ages, which cost me more money than if we'd stayed home, but I did use a coupon to take $3 off our bill. :-/
  • I made sure my dishwasher was full before running it, and I cut my dishwashing tablets in half.
Overall, I don't feel like this was one of my strongest weeks in the saving money department.  Hopefully I'll feel better about next week. :-)

Free Tabasco & cheap Frank's Red Hot

Looking to spice up your meals?
Starting Sunday 2/19, Tops has small bottles of Tabasco on sale 10/$10.  Go to the Tabasco website and print coupons for $0.50 off any bottle. After the coupon doubles to $1, you'll get some for free!  I love getting things for free, and it's even better when I can use my coupons to do so during a gas points earning period.

If you prefer Frank's Red Hot, there is a $0.35 coupon available to print here (use zip 10010 if you don't see it).  The smallest bottle sells for $1.29 at Wegmans.  After the coupon doubles to $0.70, you'll pay just $0.59.

2/12 - 2/18 Tops deals

I'm sorry for not posting my Tops deals earlier in the week, but it seems like I haven't been home long enough on any one day to sit down and blog.  The above picture is a fraction of what I bought in total, since I made several small trips to Tops throughout the week for a bunch of reasons -- to stay within the store's coupon policy (only 4 like coupons double and 1 like store coupon per transaction), to maximize gas points (10 bonus gas points per manufacturer coupon with a maximum of 100 points per transaction), and because I really didn't have enough time to stay in the store very long on a shopping trip.
Keeping in mind that I split these up into a bunch of transactions over the course of the week, here is the list and breakdown of this week's total purchases:

32 boxes of Betty Crocker fruit snacks - $0.50 each
On sale 4/$4, used 2 $0.50 off 2 coupons (double to $1) for each set of 4 boxes I bought.  Coupons were printed from here (I don't see them at this link now, so they may no longer be available), here (use zip 77477 if you don't see it), and here.
Note:  In order to get them at the $1 per box sale price you MUST buy them in quantities of 4, otherwise they are priced individually at $2 each.  Yes, I realize that 32 boxes sounds excessive but at $0.50 per box this is absolutely a dirt cheap stock-up price for me.  I also see that my son has polished off 2 boxes already, so I really don't think they will last as long as I had originally hoped. :-/

4 tubes of Tops refrigerated biscuits - $0.19 each
Priced at $0.69 each, I used 2 $1 off 2 Tops brand items coupons from their anniversary game

2 bottles Palmolive dish soap - $0.50 each
On sale 10/$10, used the $1 off 2 coupon from the 1/29 SmartSource (I think?) coupon insert
Note: I don't use too much dish soap, but since this is the first Palmolive coupon I've gotten that didn't have a size restriction on it, I jumped on the deal. All of my other Palmolive coupons have always specified the 20 oz. minimum size and these bottles are 10 oz.

2 cans Starkist tuna - $0.50 each
On sale 4/$5, used the $0.75 off 2 tearpad coupon I found hanging on the tuna shelf
Note: I mainly bought these because with the new coupon bar code I can't easily tell which coupons double and which don't.  Since my store's registers aren't updated for the new bar codes yet, the coupon was entered manually and doubled.  I saw these tearpads on Monday and was surprised that as of today there were still TONS of them left.

4 packets Tops chicken gravy mix - $0.25 each
On sale 4/$3, used 2 $1 off 2 Tops brand items coupons from their anniversary game

6 packages 80/20 ground beef - various, see below
The smaller packages were on sale for $3.39/lb (ridiculous in my opinion -- the most I'll pay is $1.99/lb, which is what Wegmans sells their club packs for).  I found the smallest packages to match up with my $2 store coupons from the Tops anniversary game.  When all was said and done, I bought 6.16 pounds of meat for $8.89 (retail was $20.89 -- how crazy is that?!?) which works out to an average of $1.44/lb.

2 boxes Shake & Bake - $1.50 each
On sale 2/$4, used the $1 off 2 coupon from the 2/12 SmartSource coupon insert

6 cans Tops tuna - $0.50 each
Priced at 10/$10, used 3 $1 off 2 Tops brand items coupons from their anniversary game

6 boxes Better Oats oatmeal - $0.92 each
On sale 4/$5, used 2 $1 off 3 coupons printed from here (need to register)

2 bottles of Coffee-Mate liquid coffee creamer - $0.90 each
On sale 2/$4, used 2 $0.55 coupons (double to $1.10) printed from here (need to register)

20 cans Campbell's chciken noodle and tomato soup - $0.40 each
On sale 10/$6, used 4 $1 off 5 coupons printed from here
Note: I've paid less than this during a good sale ($0.23/can last time, I think) but we eat a lot of soup and I didn't want to risk running out before another great sale.  Plus, I recently donated food to a couple of food drives and I wanted to make sure we didn't run low from doing that as well.

2 packages Smithfield bacon - $2.99 each
On sale BOGO ($5.99), used the $1 coupon from the 1/29 SmartSource couopn insert
Note: This isn't a great bacon price for me, but my husband and kids are on a bacon kick lately.  I was afraid if I didn't buy these and have them in the house, hubby would go out and spend a lot more on bacon.  I love him dearly but he is NOT a good grocery shopper! ;-)

2 bags Tops frozen vegetables - $0.75 each
On sale 4/$5, used a $1 off 2 Tops brand items coupon from their anniversary game

4 boxes Yoplait Go-gurt - $1.50 each
On sale 5/$10, used 2 $1 off 2 coupons from the 2/5 General Mills coupon insert
Note: In the past I've always been able to find better printable coupons online for these but I had no such luck this time around.  My freezer stock is getting low, so I hope we'll see some good printables the next time there is a sale.

The total retail cost of my groceries this week was $213.52 and after discounts and coupons I paid $63.57, for a savings of approximately 70%.  I am also up to $1.00 off per gallon of gas.

Here is another deal I would have loved to take advantage of:

YoCrunch yogurt cups are on sale this week 10/$6.  There are coupons for $0.65 off 4 (which double to $1.30) available to print here, making them $0.28 each.  Plus, if you buy 8 of them in one transaction, you will earn a Catalina coupon good for $1 off your next shopping trip.  Unfortunately these coupons have not been reset, so if you are like me and printed them for the last sale a couple of weeks ago, you will be unable to print them now.

New CVS coupons

Are you a CVS Beauty Club member?  If you are, be sure to check your email.  If not, you can sign up here.  In addition to earning ExtraCare Bucks when you buy beauty products, CVS will periodically email you store coupons.

I was excited to see that the coupons emailed to me today included a freebie: a free tin of Nivea creme.  Winter wreaks havoc on my skin, so I'm always on the lookout for cream and lotion deals.  Cheap is good, but free is always better!

I also received a $3 off any Revlon cosmetics purchase.  If my memory is correct, I believe I saw Revlon products on sale in this week's ad (and since this is a store coupon, it can be stacked with a manufacturer coupon for an even better deal).

Cheap Tops products

If you're like me and have ended up getting a bunch of $1 off 2 Tops brand products coupons from playing their 50th anniversary game, there are a bunch of options for using them to grab some cheap products.  I scoped out a few cheap deals when I stopped by today (although I can't find my written notes now, so hopefully my memory is correct!):
  • Tops refrigerated biscuits - priced at $0.69 each, buy 2 and use the $1/2 coupon, pay $0.38 or $0.19 each
  • Tops canned vegetables (8 oz. can) - priced at $0.69 each, buy 2 and use the $1/2 coupon, pay $0.38 or $0.19 each -- Note: these were on sale 20/$10 last week which made them free.
  • Tops canned vegetables (14 - 15 oz. can) - priced at $1 - $1.09 each, buy 2 and use the $1/2 coupon, pay $1 - $1.18 or $0.50 - $0.59 each (not that great of a price in my opinion)
  • Tops soda (2 liter) - priced at $1 each, buy 2 and use the $1/2 coupon, pay $1 or $0.50 each (plus tax and deposit)
  • Tops chicken gravy mix packet - priced at $0.75 each, by 2 and use the $1/2 coupon, pay $0.50 or $0.25 each
Have you spotted a cheap Tops brand product and gotten a great deal with your $1/2 coupons?  Share them in the comments below!

Money Saving Challenge - week 6 in review

I learned earlier this week that blogger Precious at Frugal Makes Cents has decided to shut down her blog.  While another blogger may possibly take over hosting the 2012 Money Saving Challenge, for now I'm going to continue to list my money saving accomplishments here as a way to keep myself accountable and possibly give my readers new ideas.  After all, I still need to save money this year!  Here are the things I did this week to save money:
  • I cashed in Swag Bucks for a $5 Amazon gift card to use towards holiday shopping later this year.
  • I received a Staples rebate in the mail.  I just need to get it deposited.
  • I often find myself hungry when I'm out running errands and have to fight the temptation to not hit a drive-thru.  I decided to pack my car with a few non-perishable snacks and drinks from my stockpile (obtained for free or super cheap) so I can take the edge off my hunger when I'm out and about.
  • I saved electricity by baking 2 chickens at the same time in my oven earlier this week. After we ate one at dinner, I took the rest of the meat off of it and removed the meat from the second chicken.  After portioning and packaging up the cooked chicken, I froze it to use in future meals.  I also saved the carcass and will make chicken stock in the crock-pot.
  • I saved gas by staying home 1 day this week.
  • I matched sales and coupons at Tops but really saved the most by doing almost all of my "shopping" from my stockpile this week.
  • I did some baking on a cold day in order to help heat my kitchen.  When I was done using the oven, I opened the door ajar to help continue to heat the room while the stove cooled down. Today is another cold one, so I think I'll bake cookies later!
I'd love to hear any ideas you use for saving money, too!

Use Swagbucks, get free gift cards!

Today is Friday, so you know what that means, right? Every Friday is Mega Swag Bucks Day, where the chances of being rewarded large denominations of Swag Bucks is increased. Go do your searches now!

Not familiar with Swagbucks? Here's the deal:

Swagbucks is a search engine (like Google or Yahoo). You are awarded points randomly (called Swag Bucks) when you search the Internet, answer surveys, watch videos, play games, etc. Once you sign up (it's free!), you can also refer friends and family and earn points from their referrals.

I normally earn my points through doing the web searches only (and really, who doesn't already do that? Why not get rewarded for what you're already doing?). I seem to get points after my third or fourth search and I try to do it once in the morning and again in the evening. When I earn points for a search, they are generally in the 7 - 10 point range. I've also done some surveys and earned a bunch of points very quickly. And every Friday is Mega Swag Bucks Day, where the odds of winning high-value Swag Bucks are increased.

Swag Bucks are redeemed in the Swagstore. While there are a lot of things to choose from, my favorite item hands down is the $5 Amazon gift card for 450 points. I know, that sounds like a lot of points, right? Trust me, if you commit to doing 2 searches per day, the points can add up quickly. I started using Swagbucks in June 2011 and by the end of the year I cashed in for $45 in Amazon gift cards which really helped with my Christmas shopping. I figure this year I'll be consistent enough about it that I will have quite a bit of free money to play with!

Interested? Sign up at Swagbucks (remember, it's free) and start earning free stuff!

2/5 - 2/11: Not much shopping this week

My freezer, refrigerator, and pantry are well-stocked.  Nothing really jumped out at me at in the Tops circular this week either, so I had my smallest weekly shopping trip ever.  Are you ready?  Wait for it...

2 cartons of  Yoplait lactose free yogurt - $0.60
On sale for $0.60 each, used a BOGO Catalina coupon I received at the register 2 weeks ago

2 cans of Tops green beans - FREE
On sale 20/$10, used the $1 off 2 Tops store coupon I earned from playing the "pop the balloon" game I blogged about the other day

1 Twix bar - FREE
Priced at $0.99, used a free product coupon I received via snail mail (I really thought I should have had to pay tax on it, but who am I to argue with the register when it's in my favor?)

The retail cost was $4.35 and I paid a whopping $0.60 after discounts and coupons, for a savings of 86%.

Other than possibly needing milk within the next 2 days, this is it for my shopping this week.  Pretty boring, but it's nice being able to "shop" from my stockpiled food that I've bought previously at low prices.

The only other thing in the ad that I found interesting was the cereal deal: buy any 5, get a $3 Catalina coupon / buy any 10, get $6 / buy any 15, get $6.  There is a selection of several of cereals to choose from priced at 4/$10.  I'm so well-stocked with cereal that I didn't need to buy more, but if anyone is interested there are some printable cereal coupons out there to match up with this sale:

Win a $50 Tops gift card!

As part of Tops' 50 year anniversary, they are giving shoppers a chance at winning a $50 gift card.  Play a balloon popping game over here (you'll need to register your Bonus Card if you haven't done so previously) for a chance to win their daily gift card giveaway.  The games runs until March 25 and you can play once per day.

I didn't win the gift card today (bummer!) but I did get a printable coupon good for $1 off any 2 Tops brand items just for playing.  Has anyone else played and won anything?  I'd love to know how my readers have fared!

Money Saving Challenge - week 5 in review

As part of the Frugal Makes Cents Money Saving Challenge, here is the list of things I did this week to help save money:
  • I stayed home 3 days, which saved money on gas.
  • I combined errands on my outings, also to save gas.
  • I matched sales and coupons at Tops and Wegmans to save money on my groceries, then deposited some of those savings in a bank account.
  • I used the crockpot one day (saving electricity) to make bean soup (cheap meal!).
  • I mailed in a rebate, which will get me a coupon for a free product.
  • I named my 2 younger kids to the "Electricity Police" in an attempt to get them excited about shutting off extra lights that don't need to be turned on.  There have been times I've walked through my house and found nearly every single darn light turned on, even though I know I turned them off earlier.  They seem kind of enthusiastic, but I'm sure the novelty will wear off quickly.  I'll take whatever help I can get, though!
If you are doing anything in particular to save money or live more frugally, I'd love for you to leave me a comment!

1/29 - 2/4: Tops & Wegmans weekly shopping trip for $32

My pantry, refrigerator, and freezer are pretty well-stocked, but I did shop at Wegmans and Tops yesterday to pick up a couple of necessities, a few good deals, and use up some coupons that were expiring and didn't want to go to waste.  I don't have a hard and fast grocery budget, but I generally like to stay below $75 per week and if I can stay under $50 I'm excited. I was thrilled with spending $30 yesterday!  Here is what I brought home and the cost breakdown:

Wegmans

1 gallon Milk - $1.99
No coupon, but I needed it (actually, with the way 2 of my kids drink milk it would probably be cheaper to buy the cow!)

4 bags Chex Mix - $0.79 each
On sale for $1.99 each, used 4 $0.60 coupons (double to $1.20) printed from the Betty Crocker website but longer seem to be available (sorry!)

1 bag Goya navy beans - $1.79
Not on sale and no coupon, but I've been itching to make bean soup using a ham bone I have in my freezer (it's cooking in the crockpot now!)

4 pouches StarKist tuna - $0.39 each
Priced at $1.39, used 4 $0.50 coupons (double to $1) no longer available at redplum.com (sorry again!)
Note: This isn't the best deal on tuna, but my stockpile is low and the coupon was going to expire.

The retail cost was $19.80 and I paid $8.50 after Shoppers Club and coupons.

Tops
Transaction 1

10 cups Dannon Light & Fit yogurt - $0.40 each
On sale 20/$10, used $1 off 10 coupon from the 1/29 SmartSource coupon insert

6 canisters of Crystal Light - $1.50 each, see note
On sale 2/$4 (check the shelf, though, because some were 2/$5 and 2/$6), used 3 $1 off 2 coupons printed from Walmart's website
Note:  This ended up being an awesome deal!  The ad featured this as part of a "Buy 6 select items, get a $3 Catalina coupon" deal. There is also another Catalina deal going on where you receive a $4 Catalina if you buy 5 Crystal Lights. Surprisingly, both coupons printed out!  And to top it off, my receipt also shows that I earned an extra 200 bonus gas points from buying these.  When you factor in both Catalina coupons and the gas discount, these became a money maker!

3 boxes Mueller's pasta - FREE
On sale 10/$10, used 3 $0.55 coupons printed from their website (must be a new registration)

2 bottles (2 liter) Coke Zero - FREE (plus tax & deposit)
$1.67 each (I swear the sign said if you buy quantities of 5, they are $1.11 otherwise they are $1.89 each), used 2 $0.99 coupons ("double" to $1.67) printed from Facebook (it looks like from the wall comments that the coupon is no longer available)

The retail cost was $38.99 and I paid $13.82 after coupons and discounts.  Besides the $3  and $4 Catalina coupons from the Crystal Light, I also had Catalinas print out for $3 off a box of Clairol Natural Instincts hair color, $0.50 off a Pantene product, and $0.55 off a half gallon of any Silk.

Transaction 2

6 cans of Musco Pearls small black olives - $0.25 each
On sale 10/$10, used 3 $1.50 off 2 coupons printed from here (click the "Pearls coupon link at the bottom.  Unfortunately, these only allow 1 print per computer)

4 boxes Kellogg's Cocoa Krispies cereal - $1.50 each
On sale 5/$10, used 2 $1 off 2 coupons printed from here (registration necessary)
Note: These all had peelie coupons on them for $1.00 off milk when you buy any 3 Kellogg's cereals 8.7 oz. or more).  Unfortunately, I had already gone to Wegmans and bought milk.  Luckily they don't expire until 6/30/12. Also, I didn't notice until now that there is a $1 off 2 Apple Jacks or Froot Loops coupon available to print at the above link, and they are also part of the sale.

The retail cost was $26.70 and I paid $3.50 after discounts and coupons (I used the $4 Catalina from transaction 1).

Transaction 3

4 bottles (2 liter) Coke Zero - FREE (plus tax & deposit)
Priced at $1.67 each, used 4 $0.99 coupons ("double" to $1.67) printed from Facebook (no longer available - sorry!)

2 bags of Chex mix - $0.90 each
On sale BOGO ($2.99), used $0.60 coupon no longer available (it was cheaper at Wegmans, but I realized when I was in Tops that I had 1 more coupon and I wasn't going back to Wegmans just for another bag of Chex mix.  Plus, I earned gas points by redeeming the coupon at Tops).

1 bag Grande tortillas chips - $1.50
On sale 2/$5, used the $1 coupon from the 1/15 SmartSource (I think?) coupon insert

3 packages Knorr/Lipton pasta sides - $0.67 each
On sale 10/$10, used the $1 off 3 coupon from the 1/29 Red Plum coupon insert

3 jars Ragu pasta sauce - $1.08 each
On sale 2/$3, used the $1.25 off 3 coupon from the 1/29 Red Plum coupon insert
Note: I generally don't like paying more than $1 per jar for pasta sauce, but I bought alfredo sauce and am willing to pay a little bit more for that.

The retail cost was $29.57 and I paid $6.74 after discounts and coupons (I also used the $3 Catalina coupon from the first transaction).

Overall, I paid $32.56 for $115.06 worth of groceries, for a savings of approximately 72%.  I'm stocked up on soda and snacks for the Super Bowl, but I will probably head back later this week to grab a couple of frozen pizzas (I noticed Tony's pizzas are on sale and I have some tearpad coupons, which will only add a few dollars to my weekly total).  All in all, a cheap shopping week for me!
